Citing the success of current D-B projects such as the Tappan Zee Bridge and the Atlantic Avenue Viaduct in Brooklyn, Shorris & Fuleihan estimate transitioning current projects to D-B would result in taxpayer savings of more than $450 million, with a total cost of approximately $7.3 billion over 10 years.
